Reminders

I have some favourite sayings:
"I can't hear you when you use that voice"
"Don't let me see you with that dummy in your mouth"
"Out of the toilet room Zeb!"

And my favourite
(which I tend to say about ten times during a ten minute car trip):
"You'll have to wait until we get home. I don't have any food in the car for you to eat"

Kids need to hear things over and over though, right?
Reminders are good.
We have some around the house
(so that I can use a few less words).

Dinner rules (adapted to suit us, from here)

Blackboard (and healthy habit) suggestion.

Our magnetic chore charts (found here)

Reminders are good.
"I love you."
"I love you."
"I love you."

Strawberry dreams

On the eve of some changes in the girls room, I thought I might show you around this little space of theirs!

Monday morning moment of magic

We went for a drive, the kids and I.
Past fields and farms and green.
And the rain was falling lightly.

All three in the back were enjoying this song.
And singing "Our God is LOVE".

Lemonade and water

I like lists.
But it's not just me.
Elara makes lists of the songs she wants to perform at an imaginary concert. She makes lists of the food she wants to serve at her 6th birthday party (in February). She makes lists of the activities she wants to do tomorrow. A few weeks ago, she wrote a list of everything she might need to run her own lemonade stand.
It looked fun.
A perfect activity for the spring holidays.
And an opportunity to learn.

We learnt that little people can do big things.
We learnt that it is good to give our time and money away.
We learnt that $80 will provide safe water for 4 families in a third world country.

We raised $85!
